Health, faith, leadership, and business — in my life, they all intertwine. My fitness journey has taught me that the discipline you build in one area carries into every other area. This is my story, and I share it hoping it encourages you on yours.
The trauma I faced
Before anything else, you need to know this: I faced trauma. Sexual assault — first as a young girl, and again as a professional. Without facing it, you would not see the woman you see before you today in regard to health in general. What you are seeing is the other side of someone who has faced it.
I did not run. I did not numb. I faced it — head on, starting that day, because healing requires action, and I refused to remain shattered. Faith anchored me. Scripture strengthened me. God held me. And on the other side of trauma, I found freedom. On the other side of anxiety, clarity. On the other side — peace.
Where it started
Before 2023, a knee injury stopped me in my tracks. There is a “before” picture from that season — and then there is the “after.” The road back was not fast, and it was not easy. But I learned something that has stayed with me ever since: face the trauma, keep the faith, and do not give up. Faith over fear — even when you have to do it afraid.
One race at a time
5K — January 29, 2023
10K — January 7, 2024
Half Marathon — May 25, 2024
Full Marathon — January 5, 2025
Triathlon (Swim, Bike, and Run) — October 11, 2026
Each finish line taught me something new about resilience, patience, and trusting the process. Train smart. Recover hard. Trust and enjoy the process.
Coach Misty’s 21 Day Fitness Challenge
From June 2, 2025 to June 22, 2025, I took on Coach Misty’s 21 Day Fitness Challenge. The before and after pictures say what words cannot — twenty-one days of showing up, day after day, will change you.
Strength, inside and out
Along the way, boxing training became part of my routine — building strength, confidence, and the kind of mindset that refuses to quit. The same mindset I bring to leadership and business: set clear goals, take action, and never give up.
How they intertwine
When you take care of your health, you lead better, you serve better, and you live better. Healing began in my mind before it manifested in my body. That is why health, faith, leadership, and business cannot be separated in my life — each one strengthens the others.

A T.I.M.E. Journey of Faith and Healing

THE OTHER SIDE
Choose health—or choose death. That sounds dramatic, but trauma forces decisions. Pain will ask you: “Will you stay here?” or “Will you fight your way through?” Trauma is inevitable. Challenges will come. But with faith — ALL things are possible.
So I made a decision. I would face it. Head on. Not tomorrow. Not when it felt convenient. But starting TODAY. Because healing requires action. And I refused to remain shattered.
T — TRAUMA
My trauma began at eight years old. Sexual assault and then sexually assaulted again as a professional.
Then came the heart blocks. And life… was never the same. Anxiety tried to move in permanently. Fear tried to introduce itself as my identity. But awareness interrupted the cycle. Faith anchored me. Scripture strengthened me. God held me. And I made a choice: I would not run. I would not numb. I would FACE IT. Because on the other side of trauma… is freedom. On the other side of anxiety… is clarity. On the other side… is PEACE.
I — INJURY & MARATHONS
Trauma didn’t just touch my emotions. It touched my body. But I refused to let pain define me. So I ran. 5K. 10K. Half marathon. Full marathon. 21-day fitness challenges. Now, Training for my first triathlon. One mile at a time. One breath at a time. One step at a time. Every finish line whispered, “You are stronger than what tried to break you.”
M — MINDSET
After trauma, you have two options. Option one: Live positively. Put God First. Option two: Let trauma become your identity. I chose God First. And that choice changed everything. Because healing begins in the mind before it manifests in the body.
E — EXERCISE (SMALL STEPS)
Exercise became symbolic. Not just for fitness — but for faith. Small. Consistent. Intentional steps forward. Healing is not one giant leap. It is daily obedience. Daily discipline. Daily decisions.
PEACE
Faith carried me. Forgiveness freed me. Healing removed what trauma tried to block. Someone once asked me: “What does it feel like on the other side?” And I answered with one word. Peace. Not perfection. Not absence of memory. But peace. THE OTHER SIDE — is not painless. But THE OTHER SIDE — is powerful. Protect your peace. Guard your healing. Take the step. And I promise you — I’ll see you on THE OTHER SIDE. I believe in you.
Where I am now
The triathlon chapter is complete — and now I am on the road to 100 miles, training for the Bike City Century Ride on May 2, 2027. The journey continues.
To anyone working toward a fitness goal: keep going! Stay consistent, stay positive, and don’t give up. You will achieve it — I believe in you!
